Welcome

Summer is my favorite time of year. The rooftop bars, sweet cocktails, long sunny days, and 104 days of summer va- hmm. Phineas and Ferb made summer seem like it was filled with endless possibilities - a harsh reality we faced once the academic year was over. Negotiating time off from work, the back and forth of ‘when are you free’ (to which never aligns the way you want), and checking if you can afford to have a good laugh while you’re out. The cost of everything has gone up - no secret there, but nevertheless, we can still enjoy the hot weather, night sweats, and overworking your small desk fan.

I don’t actually know what there is to look forward to in summer, but good weather is always a plus when they bring long days.

The Lay-in, the Watchlist & the Wormhole is something I want to keep up with as the months go by. I have a bad habit of writing down, bookmarking, and screenshotting lists of things to watch and yet still complain that I have nothing to watch. Keep an eye out for any good recommendations I manage to fill in here.

Anyway, enough of me. Let’s get into the 'The Lay-in, the Watchlist & the Wormhole'! (I'm quite proud of that wordplay and no one can tell me otherwise.

TV

TV for me hasn’t been giving lately. I hold my hands up and admit that I am an avid watcher of Love Island (UK). Has it been great? It’s Love Island, it's what you expect. It is something that I am watching consistently without fail. It will proudly be a part of my personality trait for the remaining weeks it will be streaming on TV.

Are You Watching Love Island?

  • Yes

  • No

Finding something good to watch these days, realistically, is the least of our problems. If I'm being honest, I don't think I've watched a good series in a long while that has really gotten me hooked. It has literally been, eat, sleep, work, repeat.

I also don’t get paid enough (actually at all) but the new Transformers film, which I haven’t watched yet, makes me want to watch all the Transformers movies back to back. Will that happen? With my short attention span and commitment issues - we shall find out.
